As it seems to be every year, the last week has been pretty chaotic (the good kind!) around our house. Parties, 3 birthdays, gift purchasing/wrapping/giving, work events and the first snow fall ALL came a knockin’ this week. To tell you the truth, this Christmas has been one of my favorites and the day itself isn’t even here yet! There’s something really neat about being married and getting to celebrate in a way that makes sense to both of you. For us, this married ‘freedom’, opened up the door for us to play the cards our way this week. Highlights include:

Hanging out with fellow "La Brisa Aspiring Photographers" at the first ever Thursday hangout. (Not pictured = J, who took this picture of our crazy group!)

Photo booth awesomeness from the photog get together. (Sorry for knocking your glasses, J!)

Having a double-birthday celebration for our momma's at McCormick & Schmicks.

Great food, everyone together, laughter and wine= perfect night.

Who doesn't love the Plaza lights at Christmas time?

Yep, the plaza at Christmas with some of the people I love the most is definitely a cherished memory this year.
After returning from Kansas City, we anxiously waited for the first snow of the season to arrive. It was slated to be a big one with ‘blizzard conditions’ possible. Based on the forecast, it only made sense for Danielle to join us for a snow sleepover
Although we only ended up getting about an inch of snow, we had a blast hanging out in our PJ’s, baking and drinking hot cocoa.

I know, such a lovely photo
Sleepovers rock!
To end the week on a high note, J & I hosted a “Pajama Potluck” Christmas Party for a few friends. Holiday goodies took-over our kitchen table, flannel abounded and white elephant gifts were passed while J read “Mr. Right and Mrs. Left’s Christmas Story” in his Charles Dickens voice. A great night to end the week, indeed.

The festive gang

Your hosts, Mr. & Mrs. Foote![]()
As I’m finishing the post I can hear J unzipping suitcases in preparation for our impending week-long trip back to Kansas City. As excited as I am to see and spend time with our friends and family, I am always thankful for December 24th and 25th and the time carved out to focus on Jesus. Offices (for many) are closed, mail is not delivered, e-mails halt and for a day, life gives us a beautiful opportunity to reflect on our Savior and the redemption He delivered. I can’t wait.

"Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel, shall come to thee O Israel!"
A blessed Christmas and safe travels to you & yours,
in His love,
Laura
