  • Thank you for swinging by captured in His image Photography! My name is Laura and I am the girl behind the camera. I am a new bride to my best friend since high school, Jordan. We live in Manhattan, Kansas where I work for my alma mater, Kansas State University. I love mac n' cheese, cartoons, traveling, Aldi brownie mix (it's the best!), theater, Disney, enjoying a glass of wine with good friends, thrift shopping, Jesus....and anything else that brings adventure into our everyday life!

captured in His image Photography is at the center of my heart. This journey began two years ago and has been the most challenging i've ever faced. I am humbled with each stumbling block and encouraged with each 'ah-ha!'. Being invited in to life's most intimate moments by people who start as strangers and quickly become friends has to be the most amazing experience ever. I believe that all of us are on a unique journey and that photos are a truly beautiful way to capture God's presence, purpose and blessings in our lives.

I hope you enjoy the photos and stories archived on this page-they are a mix of captured in His image and my own life. Thanks again for visiting. I'm so glad you're here!

Bike Week Campaign

March 2010

Welcome, March! What better way to start spring than with a bicycle shoot? My friend Victoria is currently interning with the City of Manhattan and is working hard to plan the upcoming bike week campaign. I was excited when she asked me to take pictures for the campaign, such a unique opportunity! I had a blast following the cyclists around Manhattan to a lot of landmark locations. The pictures are bright and exciting, full of movement and scenery- I love them! Here’s a bit more about the bike week campaign as well as a link to check out the pictures and more information:

“Manhattan will be celebrating it’s very first Bike Week May 2nd-7th!  This week-long celebration of sustainable, active transportation will begin with a Sunday kick-off ride with the Mayor and end with Bike to Work Day on Friday.  Events are designed to increase bicycle awareness and inspire Manhattan residents to commute by bike. ” – Victoria McKennan
